Acceptance and choice of cremation has been increasing every year. From the time interment was first practiced, cremation has been accepted as a respected form of memorialization. Today, many Indianapolis area families desire this alternative method of memorialization. At Crown Hill we are proud to provide many cremation disposition options.
The Community Mausoleum provides urn niche spaces with memorialization on either glass, marble, or bronze fronts. The Court of Remembrance consists of beautiful glass fronted niches which are located in a very private alcove within the Peace Chapel.
The Abbey Mausoleum provides urn niche spaces with memorialization on bronze plaques affixed to granite fronts.
The Cross Columbarium, especially designed for one of Crown Hill Cemetery's prime locations, presents quality and value unsurpassed in Indianapolis. Made of 100% granite construction, with beautiful hand drawn architectural styled lettering, the columbarium has a Christian theme featuring a magnificent cross standing eight feet above the niche compartments.
On our South Grounds we have a beautifully landscaped Scattering Gardens. Opened in 1996 options are available to have a scattering service with no memorialization or a scattering service with memorialization via:
Inscription on a Community Granite Boulder
Bronze Plaque on an Individual Boulder
A Memorial Bench
Located in the Scattering Gardens is a Cremorial Unit which provides an 8" x 4" bronze cover for the cremated remains.
A cremation urn may also be buried in a traditional grave space, which does require an urn vault.
