John H. Dillinger (1903 - 1934)
Notorious bank robber, declared Public Enemy No. 1 by the FBI. Born in Brightwood (east and slightly south of Crown Hill about 2 ½ miles, he was cornered and shot to death outside the Biograph Theater in Chicago, Ill. on July 22, 1934.
