Robert was loved by his grandparents Duct and Minnie Anderson and Charles and Lula Ophelia Miller. He worked at Hygrade’s and Sysco Foods.. He attended Indianapolis Public Schools # 41, # 17 and Crispus Attucks High School. Robert passed on March 17, 2010.

His wife, Jill Etta Anderson, and his son, Gregory Anderson preceded him in death. His daughters, Deborah A. Dickey, Leslie A. (Steve) Bassett, Paula Y. (Fred) Cox and Nikki M. (Myron) Anderson-Cheeks and his son, Darryl Anderson; 21 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Robert loved his nephews and nieces as though they were his children and his sisters’ –in-law as sisters. His sister Carmel Jean Holland preceded him in death and his brother, Donald R. (Betty) Anderson survives him.

Robert was known as “Bob” to many of his friends. Bob was known to fix their lawnmowers, buy or sell their cars, prepare meals or his famous pineapple upside down cake. Buy ing and selling was his joy. He was lovingly referred to as “Fred Sanford.”

Robert and his family faced many challenges; but those closest to him were fortunate enough to recognize or benefit from his sense of humor, his generosity, his tenderness, his love for music, and a gift for making people feel special. Sometimes it was tough for him to express his love to others, but in his final days he found the words and the ways to let people know just how much they meant to him and slipped away from this world with a peace that surpassed all understanding, leaving some of that peace behind.
