Mary Elizabeth Rutherford 83 Indianapolis died November 21, 2008. Mary was born in Indianapolis, IN on November 28, 1924, the daughter of the late Alfred and Verna (Cutshaw) Allen. She was an Internal Affairs Officer in the Indianapolis Police Department retiring 1985. She was the second female police officer in Indiana. Mary is survived by a daughter, Diane K. Pitts, grandchildren John-Paul Condra, James Fletcher, Sandra Fletcher (Rob), and Herschel Fletcher II (Beth), a nephew James Eugene Smith (Joyce) along with eight great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Indianapolis, IN, at 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 26th. Friends are invited to call Tuesday from 4-8 pm at Crown Hill Funeral Home. Interment will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
