Mrs. Marcia Ann Moyer

November 07, 1938 - July 31, 2010

Marcia Ann Moyer was born on November 7, 1938 to Perley A. Ford and Alice Laverne Ford. She married Darold H. Moyer on June 10, 1960. She attended George Washington High School where she graduated in 1957. Afterward, she attended Milligan College. Marcia graduated in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science Geology from IUPUI in 1980. She worked at Hygrade Meat Packing from 1957-1966 as a Computer Operator. Afterward, she worked as a school bus driver and substitute teacher from 1968-1972. From 1974 to 1980, Marcia worked at IUPUI assisting in the Geology Department. During that time she did research, drafting, charts and maps. She also did surveying of mountains in Montana. Marcia was an assistant in the Math Department where her focus was tutoring. She was also an Algebra instructor at IUPUI. Marcia worked at the Nyhart Group from 1983-1990 as an Actuarial Assistant. After moving to Bloomington she worked at The Futures Group doing pension planning. Additional time was spent working and volunteering at the Women’s Ministry from 1990 to 2000 doing God’s work to assist others. She enjoyed playing the piano, dulcimer, and other string instruments. She also enjoyed camping, fossils, art work, painting, rock collections and traveling. Her other achievements were preservation and restoration of skeletal remains of an American Mastodon. This exhibit is displayed at times at the Children’s Museum and IUPUI Geology Center. Marcia was a very spiritual and God loving lady with unwavering faith. She attended many churches and was a member of The Lighthouse Christian Church. Marcia was preceded in death by Darold Moyer in 1988. She leaves to cherish her memories brother Douglas Ford, son Shawn Moyer, daughter Shay Fenton, grandchildren Samantha, Kirby, Jeremy Fenton, and Harrison and Nicholas Moyer, great granddaughter Simone Williams and a host of other relatives and friends.
