In Loving Memory of Erma Beth Bennett
Erma Beth Bennett was born on June 3, 1922 in Smith County, Kansas. She was the only daughter of John Jay and Karen Hill.
Erma attended public school in Bloomington, Nebraska and graduated valedictorian of her high school class.
Erma attended Nebraska State Teachers College of Karney and became a teacher for the School of Deaf.
Erma married Keith Neil Bennett and they moved to Miami, their only daughter Beth Ann was born in 1955. Erma was a political activist being a prominent member of the League of Women Voters, National Council of Senior Citizens, The First United Methodist Church and the Willa Cather Foundation.
After Dr. Neil Bennett passed away on February 21, 2005, Erma moved to be with her daughter and son-in-law in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Erma is preceded in death by her parents, husband and daughter, Beth A. Tindel. She is survived by her grandson, David and son-in-law, John.
A Memorial Service is scheduled on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 12:00 p.m., at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, IN 46208, with visitation from 11:00 a.m. Inurnment to immediately follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
