Mrs. Emma Lorean Hindman

August 15, 1926 - March 15, 2010

Emma Lorean Hindman (Huston) was born on August 15,1926 to Melvin and Navie Rene (Smith) Huston in Indianapolis IN. She was 83 years old and a life long resident of Indianapolis.

She attended IPS Schools, she was a Graduate of Crispus Attucks High School Class of 1944.

She began working for RCA in 1945 and worked there for 20 years before her retirement. After her retirement she worked hard in the community helping keep her neighborhood clean and safe.

She Loved to dance and danced with the ladies of Municipal Gardens and the Line Dancers at the Christamore House. She also loved to cook big dinners and entertain family and guest at her house on a regular basis.

She was married and widowed by 3 husbands, Leonard Hardy, Calvin Randall and Thomas Hindman. She had 7 Children and 2 step children. Steve Hardy, Diana (Hardy) Lusk, Donald Hardy, Leonard Hardy, Felix Hardy, Kathy(Randall) Johnson, Anita (Hindman) Torres, Yvonne Hindman and Barbara Jean(Hardy) Brooks.

Emma has 5 grandchildren and 8 step grandchildren along with several great Grandchildren with whom she loved dearly.

Her two best friends Homer (Duke) Brown and Daisy Tobey were part of our extended family, Emma never met a stranger and had a host of friends and church family.

Emma loved the lord and was baptized at a young age at Mt Zion Baptist church.Years later she joined World Wide Church of God where she remained for several years until joining New Life Christian Fellowship.

We will always remember her as a strong willed woman who mastered the art of survival. She taught us love, grace, compassion,,and endurance. She led by example and walked by Faith.
