In Loving Memory of Donald Lee Strawser

Donald Lee Strawser, age 89, of Indianapolis, passed away on Friday, June 16th, 2017. He was born January 6th, 1928, to the late Dale and Gladys (Jones) Strawser. After graduating from Perrysville High School, he enlisted in the Army serving as a radio operator and cryptographer. After his discharge he attended The Curry School of Aeronautics, where he earned his aircraft and engine mechanic license and his pilot's license. He was happily married to Margaret Ann (Peg) Martin for 66 years. She preceded him in death on January 26, 2015. Don was employed by Allison Gas Turbine for 38 years, retiring in 1986 as a senior processing engineer. He is survived by a brother, Robert Strawser of Portland, Oregon, niece Ann (Jason) Day, Portland, Oregon. Sister, Wanda (James) Clawson, Veedersburg, IN. A sister, Wilma Hybarger, proceeded him in death April 25, 2016. A nephew, Geoffrey Hybarger, Veedersburg, IN.  He was a long time member of Speedway Christian Church, Speedway Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine, Shrine Reception Unit and Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. Mr. Strawser was a long time Pacer fan. Memorial contributions may be made to:  Shriners Hospital for Children, P. O. His funeral will be at Crown Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, 700 West 38th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208 on Saturday, June 24th, 2017, viewing will be from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. The funeral will follow at 12:00 pm. He will be laid to rest in The Field of Valor at Crown Hill Cemetery next to his beloved Peg.
