In Loving Memory of our Beloved

Willie Russ, Sr.

Willie Russ, Sr., son of James and Nancy Russ, was born August 21,1919. A native of Baton Rouge, LA he relocated to Indianapolis, IN with his wife Frances Keller Russ in 1943.

Married to his beloved for 36 years before her passing in 1973, together they raised 3 children of which the oldest son, Willie Russ, Jr., as well as two grandchildren proceeded him in death.

He is survived by his devoted children Charles (Bird) Russ and Nancy Russ Price, 9 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, devoted friend Leslie Hayes and a host of devoted family and friends.

Throughout his career he worked as a butcher for Hene Meat Company until he retired in 1981. He has been a member of the Eastern Star Church family since July 1967.

A resident of the Near Northwest Neighborhood for more than 55 years, Mr. Russ was a friend and neighbor to all and was affectionately known as "Pops" or "Grandfather" to many.

He will be missed by many.

Deal only with the present
Never step into tomorrow
For God Asks us just to trust Him
And to never borrow sorrow ---
For the future is not ours to know
And it may never be,
So let us live and give our best
And give it lavishly --
For to meet tomorrow's troubles
Before they are even ours
Is to anticipate the Savior
And to doubt His all-wise powers --
So let us be content to solve
Our problems one by one,
Asking nothing of tomorrow
Except "Thy Will be done."
Humbly Submitted,

The Family
