Mrs. Alice H. Doolin

September 23, 1931 - August 20, 2010

Alice H. Doolin, 78, of Indianapolis, passed away on August 20, 2010. She was born in Atlantic City, NJ on September 23, 1931 and was the eldest daughter of William and Elizabeth “Bessie” Williams Hobbs. Alice received her undergraduate degree from Fisk University and earned her Master’s degree at Wayne State University. She was a teacher with the Indianapolis Public Schools and retired after 37 years of service.
Mrs. Doolin was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dr. Lawrence Doolin and her sister Dr. Willie Hobbs Moore.
Alice is survived by her sister Thelma A. (Isaac) Gordy of Atlantic City, NJ , her nieces, nephews, friends and the scores of IPS students whose lives she touched . According to Alice’s wishes, no services will be held. A private interment will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery
