Mrs. Mary M. DunlevyDecember, 09, 1918 - September, 04, 2008
Mary Martha McClure Dunlevy 89, died September 4, 2008, at the St. Vincent Hospice after a short illness. Born December 9, 1918, in Indianapolis, Mary was the daughter of William L. and Jane Carson McClure. Her father was serving in Europe as an infantry officer at the time of her birth. Mary was a graduate of Shortridge High School, attended Earlham College, and graduated from Central Business College. She worked for the Butler University City Office, the Weekday Religious Education Director, and for the advertising department at Sears, Roebuck and Co. Her husband, Max Dunlevy, predeceased her in 1991. They had spent more than twenty years in Florida, but Mary returned to Indiana after his death. In Florida Mary was an active member of the Port Charlotte Garden Club and the Charlotte County Genealogical Society. She enjoyed doing the family research and gardening both in Indiana and Florida. After returning to Indiana, Mary was a member of the Caroline Scott Harrison chapter of the DAR, the Fourth Tuesday Book Club, and several bridge groups. Survivors include her brother, Robert B. McClure; her sisters, Elizabeth Shipley, Eleanor Janes, Ruth Tout, and Jane Bielawski as well as many nieces and nephews. Her brother, William C. McClure died in WWII. Calling will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at the Crown Hill Funeral Home followed by a private family service.
