James Edwin Chalfin Sr.

January 20, 1933 - March 22, 2009

James Edwin Chalfin 76 of Carmel passed away March 22, 2009. James was born in Beech Grove, IN on January 23, 1933, the son of the late Charles E. and Frieda V. (Hulls) Comer. He retired from Schwitzer-Cummins in 1984. He was the widower of Margaret Sharon (Woods) Chalfin. James is survived by two daughters, Jeri Whitehill and Jennifer Churchill two sons John Chalfin and James E. Chalfin, Jr. James is also survived by a sister, Gladys Genzer along with his grandchildren Caitlin, Chelsea, Nicholas, Margaret, Jake, Maddy, Jordyn and Jack. Funeral Services will be in Crown Hill Funeral Home at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 26, 2009 where friends may call Wednesday 4:00-7:00. Memorial gifts may be made in James’ name to Wheeler Mission where he volunteered many hours.
