In Loving Memory of Howeeda Avance
Howeeda (Weeda) Lessie Avance was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 25, 1974.
She was united in matrimony to William Avance on March 12, 2003 in South Bend, IN. Will and Weeda met on February 21, 2002 in South Bend, IN. They remained in South Bend until July 2007 before relocating to Indianapolis, IN.
Weeda attended Lincoln Elementary (South Haven, MI) and Monroe Elementary (South Bend, IN). She attended Jackson Middle (South Bend, IN) and graduated from Riley High School (South Bend, IN). She studied Elementary Education at Ball State University (Muncie, IN) where her teaching career began. She later taught in South Bend IN, Elkhart IN and lastly at North Wayne Elementary School in Indianapolis.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her family. Her husband, Will Avance (Indianapolis, IN). Her children Danyelle Morris and Christal Avance (Indianapolis, IN) Alexis Avance, Alvin Avance, Adena Avance, Dovia Avance, Mirica Avance , Janasha Avance and Tallaha Avance (South Bend, IN). Her parents: Jesse (Trudy) Sr. (Niles, MI) Donna Malczynski (South Bend, IN) and William Avance Sr. (Indianapolis, IN). Her sisters: Maria Tobar (Houston, TX), Teresa Thomas (Kalamazoo, MI), Seaneck Malczynski, Katrice Avance, Whitley Avance, Kalisha Avance (South Bend, IN) and Britley Avance (Indianapolis, IN) Her brothers: Alphonso (Tamika) Braggs (Richmond, VA), Henry Graham Jr. (South Bend, IN), Jesse Tobar Jr. (Indianapolis, IN), Cecil (Towanda) Phillips (Chicago, IL), Lance (Tonya) Phillips (State College, PA), Willie Al Sanders (South Bend, IN), Kelly Malczynski (Indianapolis, IN) and William Avance (Indianapolis, IN). Granddaughter: Adele Soto – Avance (South Bend, IN) Aunts: Main Mama (Rhonda/Cecil Jr.) Phillips (Chicago, IL) and Karen (Charles) Montgomery (Desoto, TX).
Weeda enjoyed needle pointing, shopping, teaching, traveling and most of all, her family.
She departed this life on March 5, 2017. She is proceeded in death by her mother Phyllis Ann Braggs.
The family would like to express their gratitude to all the family and friends for their prayers and expressed sympathy. Her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. The family would like to acknowledge the unconditional support of her North Wayne family Ms. Britton, Mrs. Seabrook, Mrs. Perdue and Mrs. Matthews for their unconditional support for Weeda as she fought her battle with cancer. In addition to, the extended family of North Wayne staff and students who blessed our family with cards and gifts. We would also like to thank the medical staff of Indiana University West Hospital who provided exceptional care over the course of these last four years.
Services will be held at Crown Hill Funeral Home on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 12 p.m. with a visitation two hours prior.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the girls.
