Janet Josephine "Jo" Hardisty

Janet Josephine Hardisty, 89 of Indianapolis, died peacefully January 5, 2009 in Santa Monica California from complications of diabetes. Jo was born in Bloomington Indiana on September 9, 1919. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years; Russell Carl Hardisty May 31, 2000. Jo was involved in a variety of charities throughout her life--she always wanted to give back to her community through personal involvement. She is survived by her only child, a daughter, Susan Josephine Hardisty of Los Angeles California and two grandchildren, Alexander Russell Wheeler and Lara Hoffman both from southern California and one great granddaughter, Riley Josephine Hoffman. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who was loved by everyone she met. She will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to The American Diabetes Association. Memorial service will be held Saturday April 4, 2009 at 1:00 pm in the Peace Chapel of the Community Mausoleum of Crown Hill Cemetery where friends may call after 12:00 pm. Arrangements entrusted to Crown Hill Funeral Home. Entombment will be in the Court of Remembrance of the Community Mausoleum.
