Daisy "Disco Daisy" Bankhead

January 21, 1940 - January 07, 2010

Mrs. Daisy Mae Brown Bankhead, affectionately known to many as “Disco Daisy,” was born January 21, 1940 in Spring Hill, Louisiana to parents Leroy and Ola Mae Brown Zarks.

She was employed with Value City Department Stores, where she worked until her retirement in October of 1996. She loved life and especially enjoyed bowling, traveling and dancing at the Elks Lodge #104, where she was a member.

Daisy fought a valiant fight, but God knew best. So on Thursday afternoon, January 7, 2010 at 1:47 p.m., He called her from labor to rest at the age of 69 years.

She leaves to cherish precious memories sons, Accie L. Bankhead, Anthony B. Bankhead, André (Ethel) Bankhead; daughters, Helen Bankhead, Merilynn Puckett, Margarita Bankhead, Tammy (Marion) Bankhead-Carr; brother, Jerome Zarks; sisters, April Bishop, Robin Clark; 24 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and a host of in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Information

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 18, 2010 at the Crown Hill Funeral Home, with visitation there from 11:00 a.m.
