While Reese did not complete high school he did prove himself to the world with very industrious employment with high quality companies. Reese worked for Heathington and Burner, Stewart and Warner for 25 years, Brinks Meat Company and Marsh Supermarkets for nearly 40 years. He retired from Marsh at the age of 80. Reese also proved himself wise by living frugally, but indulging in a few things he did like, such as nice cars and clothes. While retired, he enjoyed doing things at his leisure. During all of his youth years and adult life, he enjoyed farming and always maintained a very large garden which is how he fed his family. There was also an abundance of produce left over that he would let family and friends come and join in the harvest. Reese also liked to fish and took his family to the Kentucky Dam and other places to fish. Reese also like to travel to see family during the summer months and always made sure his children knew who their family was, especially his Indian roots. Reese was also a good cook and baker. He also enjoyed a constant supply of pepsi.
Reese was a member of the 25th Street Baptist Church in his younger years. While he was not attending, it was observed by his family, that he kept a close relationship with Christ in private. He kept and alter of Christ in his garage. Whenever challenges came along, his faith never waivered. He also stood in acceptance of whatever the Lord wanted. He would always say, "That's the way God wanted it" and he never questioned what God wanted. His acceptance of God's Will was greatly admired by his family. Reese was recently reinstated to the 25th Street Baptist Church and again, professed his love for Christ.
In his younger years, Reese was also a member of the Knights of St. Peter Claver. His membership would prove invaluable to his family and friends, as he was a constant resource from his giving heart to those in need.
