NEW! Public Tours: Indy Bicentennial TROLLEY Tours

July 25

Happy 200th Birthday, Indianapolis! Celebrate with an Indy Bicentennial TROLLEY tour!

Join us for one of TWO trolley tours on July 25th!

Indy turns 200 and the city is celebrating from June 2020 – May 2021! The history of Indianapolis can be traced back to the summer of 1820 when dozens of families built cabins along the riverbank in a settlement named Fall Creek.

Join us for one of our new Indy Bicentennial TROLLEY Tours highlighting many of the city’s pioneers, movers and shakers, cultural figures, famous, and the infamous. Among them are the Vice Presidents who called Indianapolis home; the English family, whose hotel sat on Monument Circle; James Whitcomb Riley, the famous Hoosier Poet; the Lilly family who formed the pharmaceutical giant and contributed many millions to Indianapolis; John Dillinger, infamous bank robber; and George Knox, once the leading African-American in town. The tour includes many notables not included on the Bicentennial Walking Tours and viewed from a comfortable air-conditioned trolley.

Participants will enjoy the opportunity to get off the trolley at the top of the Crown, the highest hill in Marion County to see and photograph the amazing 360-degree view of the entire city skyline! Another stop may be added! A printed booklet highlighting many notables will be included, along with light refreshments!

Check out this beautiful 360-degree photo by Sergio Bennett of the Indianapolis skyline from James Whitcomb Riley’s memorial on The Crown.
