Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal. Today, we celebrate the life of a loving Mother and devoted Christian, Gertrude E. Jackson, born in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Lawrence and Gertrude Miller on September 26, 1925.
Gertrude obtained to excellence throughout her exceptional life. Graduating from Crispus Attucks High School near the top of her class in 1942, she went on to receive a Bachelors in Science from Indiana University majoring in Nursing. Never satisfied in her jour-ney for knowledge she later earned a Master's in Education leaving the way for her 3 sons who obtained their degrees following in the path of their Mother. Gertrude was a devout Mother indeed, who dedicated her life to her five natural children and the many others she mentored when she saw they needed a helping hand. It is because of her that so many are where they are at today.
And as a founding member of the Indianapolis Eastside Seventh Day Adventist Church, she would work tirelessly to evangelize the message to all who would listen, and as of the building fund Chair-man her efforts contributed to the success completion of God's edifice in 1969 which still stands today. Often, she would simultane-ously hold numerous leadership positions to ensure the Lord's work would move forward without impediments.
Her soul was a pool of living water with a loving spirit that routinely invited others to celebrate the joy of life. With a giving and compassionate spirit, she warmed the hearts of all that were bless to have her companionship. Now, we are therefore left with a hole in our hearts that can never be filled, but gladly we also have loving memo-ries that will never be forgotten.

Jack-son (61), grandchildren including Edmund Powell Jr., Cynthia Powell, Teresa Fowlkes, Oliver Lewis Jr., Charles T.
