Jacob “Jake” Halstead
Jake was in high school when he became interested in funeral service. His grandfather had fallen ill with cancer and had set a meeting with a local funeral director to make prearrangements which Jake was allowed to “sit-in-on”. As the arrangements were finalized, Jake began asking the funeral director questions about the funeral business. That conversation led to a job offer for Jake as a landscaper for the funeral home. He then worked his way “indoors” and has been a part of funeral service ever since.
After his graduation from High School, Jake studied psychology at Indiana State University, and later obtained his Mortuary degree from Ivy Tech Community College.
Jake joined the Crown Hill team in 2019 as a Funeral Director and Embalmer. He brings with him a degree of knowledge of funeral care equal to his compassion and empathy for the families he serves.
In his spare time, Jake enjoys hiking, cooking, carpentry, landscaping, and creating music.
